Mozambique Travel Info
Stretching along the southern eastern coast of Africa, Mozambique is a tropical paradise with an Afro-Portuguese fusion of culture music and exotic beaches. Beach villas, white sands, tropical fruits, coconut palms, a vibrant culture and the delicious warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean await you in Mozambique.
When to go to Mozambique
The best time of year to travel to Mozambique is March through September. Deciding when to go to Mozambique one should keep in mind that highest rainfall and hottest months are from November – March (most rain falls on Southern region).
Is it safe to travel in Mozambique?
Mozambique safety: please refer to our guides for advice, however, we ask that you are an adequately prepared traveller and keep an eye out on all your personal belongings. Money exchange is not advised to occur on the streets with local merchants, rather use the national bank.

Mozambique Travel Visa
All visitors to Mozambique require travel visas. The cost ranges from US $50 – US $150 depending on the type of visa you require. All visitors should have proof of onward travel.
Mozambique Heath
Recommended vaccinations for Mozambique: Hepatitis A, Polio, and Typhoid.
Vaccination for Yellow Fever is essential even if traveling from an infected area, and recommended even if you are not. Be sure to have your vaccination record of yellow fever with you when you arrive.
Malaria in Mozambique: Consult with your local physician before departing and obtain prophylactics. When in Mozambique sleep under Mosquito net and apply mosquito repellent as needed. We do advise that long sleeves shirts are worn and repellent is reapplied at regular intervals.
HIV/AIDS in Mozambique: Mozambique is a high risk area it is recommended that all necessary precautions are taken as the HIV/AIDS infection rate is 1 in 3 in Mozambique.
Drinking water in Mozambique: We advise not to drink local running water or tap water, bottled water where possible is recommended.
