Navigation in Africa
Through our GPS navigation courses, the Pathfinders team aims to educate and equip you with various means of navigation, possibly the most important tool in survival in the African bush.
You will learn how to successfully navigate through the bush with a compass, GPS (global positioning system), the sun and the stars. You’ll learn direction, distance from the closest water source and your position relative to where you have come from, as well as the difference between true North and magnetic North.
Besides GPS navigation, you will be taught to use various natural methods of determining for when GPS is unavailable.
